The story
Thornfair
Old traditions can break your heart
I shall sew me a thornfair gown, love,
to put on for the Maidens’ Fair
I’ll weave me a garland of thorn and may
and a maiden’s braid I’ll wear.
Crowned with a circlet of may, love,
I’ll lie down in the circle of thorn,
a maiden no more I’ll arise, love
and a gift for the hill shall be born.
Rowan Amhill loves the old traditions. That’s why she wears a thornfair gown for the festival. Her cousin Hazel laughs at her, her mother is impatient, her friend Ash accepts her ways, but to Flynt dan Apfel the temptation is almost irresistible. His people are dying, and Rowan could help to save them. She’s willing, and yet he refuses her sacrifice. Unfortunately for everyone, no is not an answer Rowan is willing to accept.

Summerfeste
Doing the right thing isn’t easy when you don’t know what it is
Firstfruit of the Summerfeste!
Late to bloom and quick to bless!
Weave and dance a garland, hey!
Hey, Hey! Hey! HEY!
The next to fruit may bear the tears
Counting out the days of years
Grieve and tear a garland, hey!
Hey, Hey! Hey! HEY!
Fruit for clod and fruit for hill
Summerfeste may dance her fill
Sup with mead and end in tears
Counting down the days of years.
Hey, Hey! HEY!
Ash’s friend Rowan is having a baby that just might be his (if he could only remember). He has no idea how to help her. Meanwhile, her cousin Hazel provides some undemanding distraction while Genista the hillfayre girl teases him with possibilities beyond his reach. What with helping his dour father at the charburn, being troubled by three women and dealing with an unexpected stepmother, Ash is thoroughly confused. It doesn’t help that he thinks he looks a bit like a sad frog and usually smells of charcoal.

Crossover
You make your way in your own image
Go down through the door in the riven oak
By the bloom of the sloethorn tree
Carry the slumbering seeds of life
To trade the years with me.
Trade the years with me my love,
For many a score have I
A bargain’s struck when the seed is sown
And love, don’t ask me why
Cross the sill and whisper
Listen with hands and eyes
Crossover brings the awakened blood
And love, don’t ask me why
Ash Coleman made a promise to his friend, but he didn’t get to keep it. Bryn went with him to break the news, but he saw a girl who drew him to another path, the one called Crossover. Bryn’s love for Hazel threatened his people, but in the end it might be their salvation.
